Hanover & District Hospital Builds on Strong Foundation with Exceptional Workforce Survey Results for 2025-26

March 27, 2026

Hanover & District Hospital (HDH) is pleased to share the outstanding results of its 2025–26 Global Workforce Survey, which show remarkable growth built on an already strong organizational culture. This year’s survey saw strong staff participation, demonstrating continued engagement and a willingness to help shape the future of our organization. The workforce once again reported high levels of satisfaction, respect, teamwork, and patient‑centred care, with meaningful improvements across nearly every survey dimension.

“Our teams have always been deeply committed to each other and to our patients,” says Dana Howes, President & CEO. “What we’re seeing this year is the continuation of that strength — and evidence that our efforts to support staff are having a positive impact.”

Highlights of the 2025–26 Workforce Survey

HDH saw notable gains across areas that were already performing well:
  • Staff work–life balance rose by 12.3%, building on strong engagement and flexibility practices.
  • Stress indicators improved by 11.4%, with fewer employees reporting high daily stress.
  • Comfort being oneself at work increased by 11.3%, reinforcing the hospital’s inclusive workplace culture.
  • Patient care, teamwork, and safety indicators remain exceptionally strong, many above 90% positive.
“These results don’t reflect a turnaround — they reflect momentum,” says Howes. “We are building on a solid foundation of respect, safety, and teamwork.”
Some of the highest scores in the survey relate to patient care, including:
  • 100% positive: treating patients with respect and dignity
  • 95.2% positive: including patients and families in care decisions
  • 96.5% positive: preventing repeated safety incidents
“These results reflect the exceptional care our community can rely on,” adds Howes. “This level of excellence is consistent year after year, and we are proud of the professionalism our staff bring to every patient, every day.”

HDH remains committed to fostering a supportive, inclusive, and high-performing workplace as we continue to serve our community with excellence.
