COVID-19 Outbreak Declared Over

HDH, in collaboration with the Grey Bruce Public Health Unit, is pleased to declare the COVID-19 outbreak on the Acute Care, unit to be resolved and over.
Visiting hours will resume for all essential care partners and non-essential visiting on Wednesday, May 18, 2022. The HDH visiting policy allows for 2 designated visitors per patient, per hospital stay with 2 patient visits per day, maintaining only one visitor at the bedside at a time between the hours of 2 – 7 p.m. Exceptions will be made on a case-by-case basis and for Emergency Room patients, Obstetrics and Palliative Care. All visitors must adhere to Infection Prevention and Control processes including screening upon entry, washing their hands and wearing a mask at all times while in the building. Proof of vaccination status will be required for all non-essential visitors.
HDH would like to recognize and thank all of our staff and our Outbreak Management Team for all of their due diligence and efforts in ensuring a timely resolve to this situation. We appreciate everyone’s patience, flexibility and continued vigilance with infection control practices as we continue to navigate through the pandemic.
